I just logged off the game for a few hours. By the time I kill the two Ferals, I see this explosion and the message: Marcus is dead. Over across the way, I see Marcus in the down position, needing my help too. I grit my teeth as I'm forced to deal with the current threat to Maya and Karen. I try to get to him, but Karen Tolbert is on the ground getting the horizontal cha-cha drilled into her from behind by the Feral. He runs through a horde with a rucksack on his back. Just across the yard, I see a horde pick up the pace. Well, this extra Feral comes out of nowhere while I'm hunting the Feral with little Miss Hits the Bottle Too Hard. I'm thinking, we've got outposts, no worries. While this happens, a horde event appears - multiple hordes appear on the map. It was Marcus, one of my most beefed up characters. I'd radio'd in for scavenging pickup at one of the houses along the river between the two halves of Marshall. Learned my lesson from that and managed to get Maya, some random guy named Rylan, and Karen pretty beefed up. I lost Marcus and Ed around 2 hours in when I got greedy and curious. Karen and Maya were both down and surrounded, calling for me to help. Just as we were getting overwhelmed, I saw Karen come running down the road right into another horde. I was already carrying a ruck sack so I had little stamina. Just as I located Maya and started helping her out, two giant hordes attacked. While I was searching houses for the one she was in, I found a good stockpile of meds and called in a runner. Maya got into trouble on a run and I got called back to go save her. I Had almost all of their stats up to max and was playing as Rylan. As much as I love this game, I agree with Starman that it can make you want to give up.
